Job Title: Business Optimization Consultant

Reports to: Director of Professional Services

Location: Remote, with up to 30 – 50% travel to customer locations

AvSight is a rapidly growing ERP software for aviation aftermarket suppliers and MRO facilities. We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused business optimization consultant to join our dynamic team. The business optimization consultant will play a crucial role in helping our customers not only maximize the potential of AvSight’s software but also enhance their overall business processes and technology investments.

Key Responsibilities

Business Optimization Consulting 

  • Meet with customers to perform an initial discovery session of customer needs and pain points to support scope of work and proposal development.
  • Work with customers to assess current state processes, challenge the current state, architect potential solutions, and partner to deliver process optimizations.
  • Perform and deliver deep analyses of customer processes and practices to identify opportunities for improvement, growth, and scale.
  • Design original, innovative solutions for complex customer challenges where no standard solution currently exists, paying close attention to customer goals, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to customers, articulating the value and benefits.
  • Develop detailed business plans to drive small or radical business changes.
  • As requested, assist the customer in implementing the recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and industry expertise for problems and issues.

Project Management 

  • Support the sales process through review and approval of scopes of work and project timelines.
  • Oversee compliance with contracted scope of work and timeline.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate project meetings.
  • Identify, document, and communicate action items.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, escalating issues that will impact project deliverables or the timeline.
  • Actively facilitate internal and external discussions to overcome roadblocks and determine next steps.
  • Responsible for development of deliverables, including reports and presentations.

Relationship Management 

  • Build and nurture customer loyalty and high-level, strategic relationships with customer organizations.
  • Support customer success managers in account planning focused on expansion, services revenue, user adoption, and attrition prevention.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve issues for customer projects in a timely manner, escalating complex issues to the appropriate channels to ensure resolution.
  • Identify and promote success stories and testimonials of customer projects.
  • Stay up-to-date on AvSight products and services, as well as other relevant industry knowledge, to provide accurate and relevant information to customers.
  • Escalate any known “at-risk” customers and work with relevant internal stakeholders and leadership to devise the best approach.
  • Leverage prior and current experiences and expertise to develop and deliver thought leadership to customers through webinars and other events.

Documentation & Reporting 

  • Provide regular updates on customer health and project progress.
  • Foster a culture of customer success within the organization.
  • Maintain clear and organized records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions.
  • Organize and maintain all customer documentation and tracking within Salesforce.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills at the C-level
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a successful track record of building trust and strong relationships with customers quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand customer needs and align solutions to business objectives
  • Ability to handle numerous projects and customers simultaneously
  • Adaptability to changing requirements and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of diverse process improvement methodologies, including but not limited to: Lean Sigma Six, Kaizen, PDCA, TQM, BPM, Design Thinking.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aviation aftermarket industry, preferably with experience in both parts distribution and MRO

Previous experience in: 

  • Conducting business/operational process reviews
  • Gathering and analyzing data, synthesizing it into actionable insights and project plans
  • Leading and driving cross-functional process improvement projects
  • Presenting recommendations to C-suite executives
