The Neural Network of the Supply Chain: Why Your AI Agents Must Talk to Each Other
During my time as a CIO in the aviation aftermarket, I learned a fundamental truth about supply chains: there is no such thing as an isolated problem.
In the real world, operations are deeply interconnected. A bottleneck on the receiving dock instantly impacts a salesperson trying to close a deal, and a delayed vendor response brings an MRO work order to a grinding halt.
Yet, for decades, enterprise software has forced us to work in strict departmental silos. If a salesperson quotes a part and realizes there is zero stock, the software simply flashes a warning, and then the system stops. From there, it is up to a human to step in to send a message to the purchasing department and wait for someone else to manually begin the sourcing process.

The Limitation of the Isolated Bot
In recent years, companies have tried to solve this with basic automation or single-task AI bots, but these isolated tools ultimately fail to scale.
The bot can only understand its specific task. It might be great at reading an email, but the moment it hits a departmental boundary, like needing to source a part it doesn’t have, it throws an error and waits for a human to step in. A collection of isolated bots is not enterprise intelligence; it is just a faster way to hit a brick wall.
The Paradigm Shift: The Agent Mesh
To truly accelerate a supply chain, software needs a nervous system. That is why the cornerstone of our newest AvSight Intelligence release is the Agent Mesh.
We realized that true enterprise AI isn’t just about an agent talking to a human; it is about specialized AI agents securely communicating with each other.
Instead of isolated bots, we have built a decentralized, event-driven network. When something happens in one department, it fires a signal across the mesh, allowing an agent in a completely different department to instantly catch it and take action.
Breaking Down the Silos: The Mesh in Action
To understand how powerful this is, let’s look at that exact no stock scenario under this new architecture:
- The Sales Barrier: A customer emails a massive RFQ. Our Quote Agent instantly parses the email and begins pricing it. However, it realizes that a critical part is completely out of stock.
- The Signal: Instead of just putting a red flag on the salesperson’s screen and stopping, the Quote Agent fires a “No Stock” signal onto the mesh.
- Proactive Procurement: In the purchasing department, our new RFQ Agent hears that signal. Without waiting for a human to ask, it instantly jumps into action. It cross-references your internal vendor ratings, checks external market data like ILS, and drafts a fully sourced Shadow RFQ.
In the time it takes the salesperson to open the initial quote, the RFQ Agent has already alerted the purchasing team and pre-filled the solution.
Collaboration with Absolute Control
We have built a system where agents collaborate to cross departmental silos in seconds, doing the heavy lifting and research simultaneously.
But true to our core philosophy, these agents act as assistants, not replacements. The Agent Mesh handles the complex shadow work in the background, but it does not spend your company’s money. The purchasing manager simply reviews the drafted RFQ, selects the best vendor, and clicks “Approve.”
We are moving away from software that requires humans to manually bridge gaps between disconnected processes. By allowing intelligent agents to talk to each other, your human employees are finally free to do what they do best: make high-level, strategic decisions.
Looking Ahead
The Agent Mesh fundamentally changes how quickly an aviation business can react to market demands. This Thursday, we will be showing you exactly what this cross-departmental collaboration looks like on screen, with a deep dive into our new RFQ Agent and Vendor Selection Model.
