Implementation Success Story: Aviation Repair Group

Company: Aviation Repair Group
Implemented AvSight: December 2024
Previous Software: Quantum

Aviation Repair Group is a Texas based MRO specializing in repairs, parts, and service for business jets. But their customer experience goes far beyond providing services, they pride themselves on being a resource to their customers. “It’s not just about doing the job; it’s about informing and educating our customers as well. We’re adamant about ensuring that the engines we service will operate safely for years to come.” says Engine and APU Service Coordinator, Jordan Bussard.

Efficiently and safely performing services and quickly dispatching parts are also key aspects of their commitment to a high level of customer service. But with their legacy ERP, the team at Aviation Repair Group felt that they were bogged down with unnecessarily complex processes and confusing screens. Bussard relates “With Quantum, even after hands-on-training, the work order module was extremely difficult to use and required us to memorize steps. When I documented the process, I counted more than 100 steps that needed to be memorized to perform a single work order.”.

Simplifying and Streamlining Processes

The team at Aviation Repair Group agreed that a change was needed and focused on finding a system that would allow them to follow simple and streamlined workflows and to be nimble in their processes. As a result, they made the decision to implement AvSight, and the difference has been night and day. “Every task is easier in AvSight – from work orders to POs, the processes are simple and allow us to work efficiently. AvSight is also great about telling you exactly what’s missing, if you make a mistake or overlook some information. No more stopping and troubleshooting at the end of a 100 step process to try and figure out what tiny screen we might have missed.” says Bussard.

These improvements have been noted companywide and made the adoption process easier than expected. They’re seeing happier mechanics and happier administration. Simpler processes have allowed their mechanics to spend less time looking at screens and more time doing maintenance. “Mechanics want to be turning wrenches, not staring at computers. says Bussard. “After showing them AvSight and how simple it is to use, it didn’t take long to get all of our techs on board and using the system. It truly is an asset to our processes and allows us to track and manage multiple work orders at one time, while staying compliant. AvSight complements our technicians’ workflows and makes their job easier instead of being one more thing to worry about. Aviation is stressful enough without adding painful software to the mix.”.

Implementing & Learning AvSight

An ERP implementation is often an intimidating proposition. After all, it impacts every aspect of your business, and poor execution can have real consequences. Aviation Repair Group took a more hands-on approach by opting for a Quick Start implementation rather than a full service implementation.

Engine and APU Service Coordinator, Jordan Bussard, took on the implementation project. Not having a background in computer science or technology, he was understandably apprehensive about the process. He relates “The implementation process was great and the support I received from my implementer, Sebastian, was excellent. Transitioning to a new system was a challenge, and I had lots of questions, so we went back and forth a lot. It speaks to the level of support and AvSight’s commitment to their customers that someone with a basic understanding of technology could be walked through setting up and using AvSight.”.

Rather than taking years to transition to a new system, Aviation Repair Group transitioned fully to AvSight in just a couple of months, without interrupting their daily operations. Bussard explains, “AvSight is so much more user friendly. Anyone could learn the work order system in a few hours and start using it immediately. They have great online training resources available, and anytime I needed support, my tickets were responded to very quickly.”.

What is Quick Start?

Quick Start is a self led implementation option. It’s a great choice for customers who are looking to move fast and who don’t mind being more involved in the configuration and setup of their AvSight environment.

Quick Start is more hands on than a traditional full service implementation, but you’re not alone – AvSight provides comprehensive training resources and guidance. Our team is available to help throughout the process to ensure that your implementation is as seamless as possible.

Prefer a less hands on approach? AvSight also offers full service implementation options. Our team will work with you to find the option that best fits your needs, timeline, and budget.

Clear Skies Ahead

After four months on the AvSight platform, Aviation Repair Group is continuing to see improvements and more fully leverage its capabilities. “We love having a system that was built in this century – it allows us to take advantage of benefits like speed, functionality and ease of access.” says Bussard. “We are very happy with AvSight and look forward to working with their team for years to come.”.
