AI Beyond the Front Office: Meet the MRO and Docking Agents

Earlier this week, our CEO warned about the “Action Gap” in enterprise AI. He highlighted how external data lakes and bolt-on AI wrappers might generate polished predictive reports, but they lack the deep, native access required to actually execute a workflow inside your system.

Over the last year, AvSight proved it could cross this Action Gap in the front office. Our Quote Agent demonstrated that when AI is native to your ERP, it doesn’t just read an email – it can actively research parts, generate pricing, and execute the workflow for your team to review.

But building AI that can interpret a sales email is one thing. It is entirely different to build an AI that understands the rigorous compliance of an aerospace receiving dock, or the complex labor and parts quoting required for a teardown work order.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that we are bringing this Native AI architecture deep into your operational backend with the introduction of our MRO (Work Order) Agent and Docking Agent.

Smarter Shop Floors: The MRO Agent

Managing a repair shop floor requires intense coordination between quoting, planning, supply chain, and leadership. The new Work Order Agent saves planning teams hours by eliminating the need for manual reporting and extensive research. It acts as a unified assistant across your entire MRO operation:

  • For Planning: The agent uses AI to help you determine realistic start and end dates without relying on manual reporting. It also evaluates your roster to suggest the best technicians for your work order based on their availability and specific skill sets.
  • For Supply Chain: Sourcing parts for a complex repair can halt production. The Work Order Agent saves Supply Chain teams hours by providing a complete picture of sourcing options. The Source of Supply model instantly suggests optimal vendors and inventory sources for work order BOMs.
  • For Customer Service: The Work Order Quoting Agent leverages quote history, list pricing, and work scope history to create accurate quotes. To ensure customers are never left in the dark, quote creation, paperwork attachment, approvals, and status updates can be completely automated.
  • For Leadership: Executive teams gain quick, centralized visibility into shop floor trends. Work Order Insights help you understand whether a work order is on budget, trending over time, or drifting under or over its original scope.

Accelerating the Warehouse: The Docking Agent

Receiving and inspection are the heartbeat of your inventory control, but they are also major sources of delay. Inspectors spend countless hours manually entering data from complex inbound packing slips to match them against expected Purchase Orders and Repair Orders.

The Docking Agent is designed to completely rethink this workflow. When a shipment arrives, the process is now as simple as uploading the packing slip (PDF or image) directly into the Docking screen. The AI instantly reads the document and extracts key data like the PO, RO, quantities, and vendor, and automatically creates the Docking record in a Pending Review status.

Instead of acting as a data entry clerk, your inspector opens a finished draft. They simply verify the physical part against the AI’s data and click “Receive.” And true to our philosophy, the manual docking process remains completely unaffected and available whenever your team needs it.

AI Power, Human Control

Bringing AI into your warehouse and shop floor means working with some of your most valuable operational data. Because these agents live securely inside AvSight, your proprietary repair yields and vendor data are never used to train external models. Zero retention, zero training, zero leakage.

Most importantly, we designed these tools to empower your staff, not replace them. Configurable review steps allow your team to save time while maintaining full control over final approvals.

Looking Ahead

We have now shown how AvSight’s proactive agents can automate workflows from a front-office sales quote through to a back-office shop floor. But with all these agents working in the background, how does a leadership team maintain total oversight?

Next Thursday, we will unveil our ultimate “Mission Control”—the AI Hub and the Intelligence Activity Log.
